"Patrik Schick appears to be our only viable option if we go after a striker," says Kxng Ander. When we were chasing Nunez (not hard enough) the other day and he signed with our rivals, we didn't have the luxury of signing someone just good enough to be a backup. (Victor) Oshimen is good, but his fee is too high, and I'm not sure he's what we need.
"I'd love to see Patrick Schick at the club," Hasanejaz88 says. He's already playing at a high level and I believe he can make the transition. "Whether he would fit in a Ten Haag system is debatable, but he has a lot of talent.
"Schick definitely deserves to be mentioned after the season he's just had," says Dazzmondo. "The only thing is, based on his previous seasons, I wouldn't have considered him a major option." Assume it comes down to whether we believe he will maintain his last season's standards going forward, or whether he will likely drop back to his still good but unspectacular levels (especially considering there will undoubtedly be some drop off in numbers, as has been shown fairly consistently with Bundesliga goalscorers).
Patrick Schick of Bayer Leverkusen could be an ideal replacement for Ronaldo, especially given that he outperformed the Portuguese forward in league competition last season.
Schick scored 24 Bundesliga goals last season, with only one coming from a penalty. Last season, he had the best non-penalty goal ratio, averaging 0.97 non-penalty goals per 90 minutes (via FBREF).
He still has some of his best years ahead of him at the age of 26, and a productive, proactive forward like him can be a good fit for Ten Hag's system as well.

Chelsea's players, according to Mason Mount, are excited about the Todd Boehly era.
American billionaire Boehly and his consortium Clearlake completed a £4.25 billion takeover of Roman Abramovich this summer.
And Mount believes his teammates are excited about the future at Stamford Bridge.
Because it is a new era, we are all very excited, and whenever a new season arrives, you are excited about what is possible "Mount explained to the Evening Standard.
I'm excited to see what happens.
He continued: "We've had a break now, but we'll see, and we're hoping for a good year.
I'm refreshed and ready to go.
According to reports, Chelsea are ready to drop their interest in Matthijs de Ligt and shift their transfer focus elsewhere after Bayern Munich made a rival bid for the Juventus star.
This summer, the west London club has been linked with a number of centre-backs, with Thomas Tuchel keen to sign up to three new defenders after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left on free transfers.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are also rumored to want to leave Chelsea and return to Spain, though Chelsea will only sanction their sales after they have found replacements.
In recent weeks, Chelsea's top target has emerged as Netherlands international De Ligt, with Juventus reportedly willing to negotiate his transfer.
