KEEP SCHOOLS OPEN DESPITE STRIKE ACTION BY TEACHERS ? GES TO HEADMASTERS

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has guided Heads of Senior High Schools to prepare their supervisory crews to guarantee the security and prosperity, everything being equal.

 

GES further coordinated heads of essential schools not to close down their offices, in spite of the continuous strike by educators.

 

This comes after the authority of all the different educator associations in the Pre-Tertiary Education Sector left on a cross country strike because of government's inability to concede them a 20% cost for many everyday items stipend in the midst of the ongoing high expansion rate, and expansions in the cost of labor and products, among others.


The Ghana Education Service says it has welcomed the striking instructors for a gathering to examine the turn of events and the way forward.

 

The GES further encouraged guardians and watchmen to try to avoid panicking following the modern move initiated by four instructor associations.

 

In the interim, the Ghana TVET Service says its showing faculty are not piece of the strike being done by the four educator associations.



As indicated by the Service, their instructors are at post giving the required abilities and preparing to understudies.

The National Labor Commission (NLC) has approached the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, Ministry of Education, and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to direly draw in the four educator associations as of now protesting.

 

The associations, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Teachers and Educational Workers Union and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers declared a cross country strike on Monday.

 

The choice, as per the associations, follows the disappointment of government to pay a 20% Cost of Living Allowance to them.

 

In a proclamation delivered by the Labor Commission, its Executive Secretary, Ofosu Asamoah, encouraged the educators to cancel their choice to clear a path for discussions.

 

The announcement of the strike as per the assertion is because of what they depict as government's inability to give them a 20% Cost-of-Living-Allowance even with the ongoing elevated degree of expansion, expansions in costs of labor and products, and so on.
