IMMEDIATELY ENGAGE STRIKING TEACHER UNIONS ? NLC TO FAIR WAGES

The National Labor Commission (NLC) has moved toward the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, Ministry of Education, and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to desperately attract the four instructor relationship at this point dissenting.

 

The affiliations, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Teachers and Educational Workers Union and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers proclaimed a crosscountry strike on Monday.

 

The decision, according to the affiliations, follows the mistake of government to pay a 20% Cost of Living Allowance to them.

 

In a declaration conveyed by the Labor Commission, its Executive Secretary, Ofosu Asamoah, urged the teachers to drop their decision to make a way for conversations.

 

"The declaration of the strike according to the statement is a result of what they portray as government's powerlessness to provide them with a 20% Cost-of-Living-Allowance even with the continuous raised level of extension, developments in expenses of work and items, etc."

 

"You are subsequently referenced to attract the irritated Teacher Unions rapidly upon receipt of this correspondence to orchestrate settlement of their grievance(s) inside seven (7) days and outfit the Commission with a Report after wrapping up."

 

The NLC urged the instructor relationship to disavow the decision and stop the strike action to get way for the course free from obligation to result.

 

"By copies of this letter, the educator affiliations, GNAT, NAGRAT, TEWU, CCT-GH are urged similarly," the affirmation added.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed Heads of Senior High Schools to set up their administrative groups to ensure the security and flourishing, things being what they are.

 

GES further planned heads of fundamental schools not to shut down their workplaces, disregarding the nonstop strike by instructors.

 

This comes after the power of all the different teacher relationship in the Pre-Tertiary Education Sector left on a crosscountry strike due to government's failure to yield them a 20% expense for the vast majority ordinary things payment amidst the continuous high development rate, and extensions in the expense of work and items, among others.

The Ghana Education Service says it has invited the striking educators for a get-together to inspect the development and the way forward.

 

The GES further urged gatekeepers and guardians to attempt to abstain from overreacting following the advanced move started by four educator affiliations.

 

In the meantime, the Ghana TVET Service says its showing personnel are not piece of the strike being finished by the four teacher affiliations.

 

As demonstrated by the Service, their teachers are at post giving the necessary capacities and getting ready to students.
