Old Trafford has finally reached an agreement with Manchester United to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club, but he can only go to a club outside of England.

The 37-year-old player, who has been linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge, will not be sold to Thomas Tuchel's Blues, according to the club.

After failing to win any of the trophies that were up for grabs in England or Europe during the previous season, Ronaldo stated on Saturday that he would investigate the possibility of continuing his football career overseas.

The Portuguese international player has expressed interest in competing in the Champions League during the upcoming campaign.

The week before last, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Chelsea in a low-key meeting because the Blues appear to be the most interested party in acquiring his services.

However, ESPN is now reporting that the Red Devils have changed their stance, and they now admit that they will have to accept offers for Ronaldo. This comes after the Red Devils initially insisted that the 37-year-old was not available for sale.

According to ESPN, however, Manchester United will not even consider selling Ronaldo to a team that is a direct rival of theirs and will instead allow him to play out the final year of his contract if the lone offer comes from the Premier League.

They think that keeping the striker locked up against his will would cause more problems than just letting him go.
