Deadline for Raheem Sterling's signing with Chelsea revealed

It is obvious that a new-look Sky Blues team will play next season with the formal announcements of Kalvin Phillips' departure to Manchester City and Gabriel Jesus' move to Arsenal. The Englishman has been brought in to take the place of Fernandinho, who left the team following a successful nine-year tenure.

Jesus' replacement at the Etihad Stadium has been named as the adaptable Julian Alvarez.

The Norwegian's skills have been purchased to fill the shoes of none other than the Sky Blues' all-time leading scorer, Sergio Agüero, with his £51 million arrival revealed in May.

In addition, Zack Steffen, who joined Pep Guardiola's team in 2019, has been replaced by Stefan Ortega, who came on a free transfer.

Raheem Sterling, a vital component of the team who Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing this summer, has been linked with an exit as a number of new faces are due to don sky blue for the first time in the upcoming campaign.

Hakim Ziyech is expected to sign with AC Milan, and Romelu Lukaku will return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan, according to reports. Thomas Tuchel reportedly views the Kingston-born winger as his top target for a reorganized attack next season.

It has also been said that the Sky Blues' valuation remains the only challenge facing the West Londoners.

A sum of £50-£60 million has been suggested as the perfect amount to be approved for the transaction after the two-time Champions League champions initially offered £25 million to sign Sterling and ultimately had it denied.

The timeline for completing the move has been disclosed, taking into account the club's financial strength permits them to splash the cash for a key goal.

According to a report by Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard, Chelsea want to seal a deal for Raheem Sterling before leaving this weekend for their US trip.

Time is running out for Thomas Tuchel's team to include the England international in their plans for the upcoming season because they are scheduled to face Club America less than a fortnight from now.

Prior to the start of preseason, it was also previously disclosed that the former Liverpool wide receiver was hoping to lock down his long-term future at either City or Chelsea.

It would not be surprising to see this deal take some time given that the team from the English capital is interested in signing players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Matthijs de Ligt, and Nathan Aké.

But given the current situation, it's still conceivable that Sterling will eventually move to Stamford Bridge.

If Sterling leaves, it doesn't appear that the Blues would be eager to join the winger market once more.

Serge Gnabry of Bayern Munich has been mentioned in connection with a move to the Etihad Stadium, but the club swiftly denied those rumours yesterday.

In such a congested World Cup year, Guardiola will need to utilize his team to the most given the elite options already at his disposal.
