An adjudicator at the High Court in Mbandaka, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's western Équateur region, on Tuesday cleared and delivered writer Chilassy Bofumbo, who had been imprisoned since he covered a November 2021 dissent, as per the columnist, who addressed CPJ by informing application and tweeted his delivery.
Two different columnists — Patrick Lola and Christian Bofaya — stay imprisoned in the focal jail of Mbandaka, the capital of Équateur region, as per their attorney, Pontife Ikolombe, who addressed CPJ by telephone.
