Erik ten Hag is still in charge of training at Manchester United's Carrington training complex in preparation for the club's pre-season tour.

Ten Hag observes a passing drill Manchester United are in their second week of pre-season training at Carrington before departing for Asia this week.

United completed their first summer signing, Tyrell Malacia, on Tuesday and expect to add Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong to the squad in the coming days and weeks, while a bid for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez has also been submitted.

Ten Hag will have a few more days to assess his players during this final week of training before departing for the first stop on their pre-season tour in Bangkok. Except for Cristiano Ronaldo, all of United's players who were on international duty in June returned to the club earlier this week, and here are a few things we noticed during one of Ten Hag's training sessions after United released a highlights clip.

Ten Hag's annoyance

Ten Hag can be heard shouting at one point in the video that his players are making "too many mistakes" in a passing drill.

Ten Hag is known as a demanding manager who will not accept mediocrity in training as he attempts to get United promoted.

Fernandes' perseverance

Bruno Fernandes returned to Manchester United training on Monday, ahead of what will undoubtedly be a pivotal season for the Portuguese international. The 27-year-old is coming off a disappointing season by his standards, scoring only 10 league goals and failing to recapture the form he displayed during his first 18 months at the club.

A great deal of cardio

At this point, every team will be doing a lot of fitness work to get their bodies ready for the upcoming season while also giving the coaches an idea of where each player is physically.

Ten Hag will almost certainly make United work off the ball, which is a good sign for United fans. We know the Dutchman wants his team to be aggressive in the press, and we're seeing signs of that in training with the amount of running the players are doing - both with and without the ball.

Intricate construction

The majority of the footage we've seen from United's practice shows the team working on their passing from the back as they try to advance up the field. It's clear how Ten Hag wants his team to keep the ball and how to use it in specific situations.

This will put a premium on United's defensive midfielders, who will be tasked with taking the ball from the centre-backs and looking up for a quick pass rather than going long.
