The government says it is confident that the help it is looking for from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will supplement existing financial and money related measures to reestablish trust in the economy.

 

Dr John Ampontuah Kumah, a Deputy Minister of Finance, said however IMF support was in many cases momentary in nature, Government "is profoundly sure" that the Program would have the option to help Government's endeavors at pivoting the economy.

 

In a review imparted to the Ghana News Agency, the Deputy Minister said the Government was confident that the move would likewise reestablish macroeconomic solidness, support high development, make occupations and safeguard social spending in areas, remembering extraordinary drives for schooling and wellbeing.

 

"We expect an IMF program to supplement the financial and money related measures government started through the 2022 spending plan and then some. We anticipate that the program should help with reestablishing trust in the economy, limiting the twin deficiency, stopping portfolio surges, mobilizing Ghana's bonds and reestablishing obligation supportability," he added.

 

Mr Kumah engaged the populace to mobilize behind the Government and backing its endeavors to work on the economy, saying: "The primary financial changes that should be done to manage Ghana's difficulties for all time must be the errand of Ghanaians."

 

Tongues have been set swaying since Friday, July 1, 2022 when the Government imparted it's choice to look for help from the IMF in a bid to resuscitate the economy.
