Former FC Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has alleged that Pep Guardiola departed the club owing to a disagreement with the players.
The renowned Blaugrana player became manager of FC Barcelona B in 2007, before assuming charge of the senior team a year later. Guardiola achieved remarkable success to the Catalan giants throughout his time in command of the club. He won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues during his four years in charge of the team.

Guardiola prioritized utilising talented homegrown players such as Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquests. His Barça team is today largely recognized to be one of the finest teams in the history of club football.
His departure in 2012 was blamed on then-president Sandro Rosell, but in an interview with El Periódico, the billionaire rejected those charges. As published by SPORT, Rosell claimed:
"That's not true. Guardiola and the players explained it actively and silently. Pep left due of an altercation with the players. Because of a problem in the locker room. »
Rosell said that he believed his period at the helm of FC Barcelona to be "the best in the history of the club". He added :
"In section titles, in money generated, in heritage developed, in social function, in the Foundation, they are the best. They are data. You can say, 'I don't like Rosell, I can't stand him'. But the objective data of my management is published and validated on the official Barça website. I never defended myself, but the figures are what they are. He further\scommented:
"From 2010 to 2020, including the pandemic, the best years in the club's history have taken place. »
