Ghana Cards caught on video purportedly 'left to decay' were not given under Akufo-Addo - NIA

 

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has said the Ghana Cards caught in a video coursing via web-based entertainment have outlasted their 10-year life range and were not given under the ongoing Akufo-Addo-drove organization.

 

A video coursing via web-based entertainment caught some Ghana Cards suspected to have been passed on to decay at the workplaces of the NIA.

 

Responding to the video, in an explanation gave on Tuesday, 5 July 2022, the Authority noticed that its consideration has been attracted to "a video available for use via web-based entertainment about some old Ghana cards purportedly "left to decay" at the Sowotuom office of the NIA in Accra."

 

Explaining issues encompassing the cards in the video, the NIA said: "The cards are 2D-Barcode cards printed between 2002-2014 yet were never given to Ghanaians; the cards have been kept in stores and storm cellar of NIA Headquarters Building situated at No.8 Nelson Mandela Avenue."

 

It proceeded with that the "cards have been reviewed by a NIA Board of Survey and passed for obliteration as they have outlasted their 10-year life length and can't be utilized for any legitimate reason."
