DONE DEALS: Ranking How Active EPL Top 6 Have Been In The 2022 Summer Window

The English Premier League's top six teams have all closed some transactions during the summer transfer window of 2022, while some clubs are still interested in bringing in additional targets.

The teams with the most transactions closed during the summer transfer window were Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, who were rated first and second respectively.

As the team with the most transfers completed this summer, Arsenal bought four players (Jesus, Vieira, Turner, and Marquinhos) during this transfer window, while Tottenham Hotspur also completed four transfers.

Richarlison, Bissouma, Perisic, and Forster are just a few of the players that Antoine Conte's Tottenham Hotspur have acquired.

Man City and Liverpool each closed three signings during the summer transfer window of this campaign.

In this transfer window, Man City has added Haaland, Phillips, and Ortega. However, the team is still very active and may add more players.

The contracts for Darwin Nunez Carvalho and Ramsay have been signed by Liverpool.

Malacia was just signed by Man United yesterday, and Chelsea is still the only top-six team in the EPL that hasn't made a signing despite having many targets.

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Athletic Club starlet Nico Williams.

Fichajes claims that Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Athletic Club's young winger Nico Williams during the current transfer window.

Nico is a graduate of the Athletic Club's youth academy and the younger brother of Athletic Club mainstay Inaki Williams. The 19-year-old made his first-team debut in April of last year, and during the 2021–2022 season, he established himself as a regular. Williams made a total of 39 appearances during his breakout season, scoring three goals.

Williams surprised with his raw pace and dribbling ability despite having unimpressive stats; nonetheless, the adolescent still needs to improve on a number of different aspects of his game. However, it appears that Liverpool and Manchester United, two of the biggest clubs in the world, are paying attention to the Athletic Club winger.

Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho are the first attacking players Liverpool has acquired through the transfer market. Additionally, with Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz already on staff, there does not appear to be a pressing need for another wide forward now that Mohamed Salah's future is guaranteed as a result of his contract renewal.

But with an eye toward the future, a player like Nico Williams might be a wise acquisition, especially since the Reds have lost some depth with the departures of Sadio Mane, Divock Origi, and Takumi Minamino. However, Liverpool will probably have competition from their bitter rivals Manchester United, who are also rumored to be interested in signing the 19-year-old.

The future of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who has voiced a desire to quit the club, is currently causing Manchester United some anxiety. While the Red Devils are hesitant to let him go, his agent, Jorge Mendes, has already made top teams in Europe offers to the Portuguese maverick. If he left Manchester United, the offensive unit would suffer greatly.

Manchester United should therefore make finding a new No. 9 a key priority, especially because the team is currently negotiating to bring in Antony from Ajax to strengthen their wide areas. There isn't likely to be much room for Williams until there are departures from the club, as Alejandro Garnacho is set to be given a first-team position, Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri are back after being out on loan last season, and there isn't much room left for Williams.

Williams is tied to Athletic Club through 2024. So, a deal to sign the 19-year-old will not be simple despite the rumored interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
