Felix Afena Gyan is clearly one of Ghana's first-choice strikers, but the same cannot be said for his club side. The youngster is poised to quit AS Roma, who cannot guarantee him regular playing time next season. Salernitana seem to be interested in the striker and have apparently started making moves on him by chatting to the player's agent and AS Roma.
AS Roma is willing to transfer him on loan to any Serie A team that can give him consistent playing time before the World Cup. Salernitana is not the only Serie A team on his neck, as Sassuolo is looking forward to courting him. Afena Gyan assisted AS Roma to win the debut season of the Europa Conference League after he made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals. This feat looks less amazing since he was not given full playing time and was usually utilized as a substitute.
Felix Afena Gyan played his debut game for the Black Stars in the World Cup Qualifiers playoffs against Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. He also scored his first national team goal in Ghana's 3-0 victory against Madagascar in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
