Boris Johnson is "mad and scary," according to Gary Neville, as the Prime Minister refuses to resign.

Boris Johnson has refused to resign, despite the fact that a large number of Conservative MPs abandoned his premiership on Wednesday in the aftermath of the Chris Pincher scandal.

Boris Johnson was labeled "mad and dangerous" by Gary Neville after the Prime Minister refused to resign in midweek.

Johnson's premiership appears to be coming to an end after a number of cabinet ministers, including Michael Gove, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, and newly-appointed Chancellor Nadhim Zawahi, visited 10 Downing Street on Wednesday evening and advised him to step down.

This comes just one day after former Chancellor Rishi Sunak and former Health Secretary Sajid Javid resigned in the aftermath of the Chris Pincher scandal. More than 40 Conservative MPs have resigned from the government after Johnson expressed regret for appointing Pincher to a government position.

Pincher has been accused of sexual misconduct by several men, and the Prime Minister was aware of the allegation before appointing him as deputy chief whip in February. No.10 initially denied any knowledge of the Tamworth MP's allegations.

The Pincher scandal appears to be the final blow to Johnson's presidency, which has been marred by a series of scandals. The biggest of these was the 'Partygate' scandal, in which several Conservatives were fined by police for attending meetings during Covid lockdown.

Johnson was among penalized, and trust in his premiership soon vanished. He narrowly avoided a no-confidence vote among his own MPs before overseeing humiliating by-election losses in Tiverton & Honiton and Marshall last month.

Neville, a Labour Party member, has been a vocal critic of Johnson in recent months, and he tweeted his recent thoughts on Wednesday evening. "He's f****** insane and dangerous!" exclaimed Neville. "They [the government] all want to be booted out forever."

On Wednesday evening, Neville's Sky Sports colleague Jamie Carragher criticized Johnson and took aim at Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries. Dorries is one of Johnson's most ardent supporters, and she refuses to give up on the PM.

Carragher posted on twitter, accompanied by a photo of Dorries, "They've still got to go to the 1922 Committee and get something, and honestly, I will love it if we beat them."

It was a clear reference to Kevin Keegan's famous remarks made shortly before Newcastle finished second to Manchester United in the 1995/96 Premier League title race. The 1922 Committee of Tory MPs is set to vote no confidence in Johnson.

Although Johnson remains defiant, he is likely to be booted out by his own MPs in the coming weeks if he does not resign. "We have a patriotic duty to finish this," Tory MP Tobias Ellwood tweeted on Wednesday evening. "It not only harms the Conservative brand and our electoral prospects, but it also undermines the country's international standing. Britain is superior to this."
