Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes and former defender, Gary Neville, have declared the club ‘circus’ open for business again amid the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future.

Scholes wants the issues with the 37-year-old treated as quickly as possible to enable the club move on.

Following his decision to leave Juventus, Ronaldo returned to Manchester United last summer amid almost unprecedented hype and fanfare.

The club appointed former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag to take over and improve things at Old Trafford, but his summer rebuilding has been slow.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is said to be dissatisfied with United's lack of progress in the transfer window and has declared his intention to leave the club.

Let the circus begin, he wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Scholes' former teammate Gary Neville echoed those sentiments and urged United's key decision-makers to reach a quick and decisive conclusion.

"The only important factor with the Ronaldo situation is that it is dealt with decisively and quickly, he wrote on Twitter.

This cannot be a saga that distracts from the ETH bedding in period for the next two months.
