Nico Williams, a teenager from Athletic Bilbao, has caught the attention of both Liverpool and Manchester United. This summer, the two Premier League heavyweights might compete for the young starlet's services.
Williams has taken advantage of his first-team opportunities with the La Liga team, demonstrating that he is a player with future potential. As a result, he might finalise his transfer to the Premier League.
Manchester United and Liverpool may compete for the services of the Athletic Bilbao star in the summer market, according to the Spanish publication Fichajes. The 19-year-old came out of the club's development academy in Spain. Inaki Williams, his older brother, has spent his entire professional life with the Basque club and has made 340 appearances since his debut in 2014. Nico might not follow Inaki's example, though, if Manchester United and Liverpool are really eager on bringing the younger Williams into their ranks. The adolescent earned his La Liga club's senior team debut in 2021, and he appeared in 42 games last season, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist.
One of the 19-year-best old's qualities is his raw pace, and combined with his deft dribbling, he enjoys going one-on-one with defenders. Fichajes claims that because the Red Devils and the Anfield team have previously been connected to Nico, they have in reality rekindled their interest in him. The same source had previously reported in January that the adolescent was being watched by Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
The youngster's contract is valid until 2024, so signing him could be challenging.
A tweet from a former Liverpool player about a new Manchester United recruit has surfaced.
Jose Enrique, a former defender for the Reds, feels humiliated as a result of his statements. Christian Eriksen, a player for Denmark, has reportedly turned down a transfer to Old Trafford and would rather remain at Brentford or go back to Tottenham Hotspur, the Spaniard learned from a source last month.
Enrique decided that this was an excellent opportunity to poke fun at Liverpool's competitors, so he tweeted:
"Christian Eriksen turned down the offer from Manchester United and would like either stay with Brentford or sign with Tottenham. Guardian Jamie Jackson This summer, yet another player declines a transfer to Man United. Ata Lego."
To his dismay, The Guardian reported a few days ago that the Danish midfielder had consented to a transfer to Old Trafford on a three-year contract. Eriksen's medical must now be completed before he joins United. The next time Enrique tweets, he will take great care.
