Previous Tottenham and Wolves administrator Nuno Espirito Santo has been named as the new mentor of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

The Portuguese will be quick to destroy recollections of his concise stay at Tottenham with a more effective stretch at Al-Ittihad.

‘IT'S AN Honor' Nuno Espirito Santo seals return to the executives eight months after Tottenham firing as he joins Saudi side Al-Ittihad

Nuno, 48, said it is an "honour" to join the Saudi side.

In a video message on the club's Twitter account, he said: "It's an honour for me to join the greatest club in Saudi Arabia, Ittihad. See you soon.'"

Nuno will be hoping he can lead Al-Ittihad to their first league title since 2009.

The Jeddah-based side finished second in the Saudi Pro league behind Al-Hilal, who were crowned champions for the third successive season.

The Saudi side will be hoping Nuno's counter-attacking style can help them replicate the success he had at Wolves.

He drove the dormant beasts back into the Premier League and delighted in consecutive seventh spot wraps up as well as European capability.

Nuno's fruitful stay at the Molineux procured him a rewarding long term bargain at Tottenham.

Anyway he was sacked after only 17 games in control in November recording nine successes, one draw and seven misfortunes.

He was then quickly supplanted by current Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who drove Spurs to a spot in the Champions League.

Prior to moving to the Premier League the Sao Tome-conceived Portuguese manager appreciated fruitful stays at Porto and Valencia.

During his one season at Porto in 2016/17 he directed the Portuguese side to second in the association as well as the last 16 in the Champions League, losing to possible finalists Juventus.

Prior to moving into an administrative job Nuno partook in a vocation as an expert goalkeeper where he began at Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes and afterward at last moved to sides in Spain and Russia.
