Ronaldo is not for sale, per Man United
Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale, Manchester United has reaffirmed.
It was previously reported that the club would be open to hearing proposals after coming to terms with the fact that Ronaldo will be departing Old Trafford.
However, on the most recent development, United made the following statement to Sky Sports News:
Contrary to rumors, our opinion on Cristiano hasn't changed at all.
He is not for sale and has one year left on his contract.
With one year remaining on his contract, Ronaldo has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Bayern Munich thus far this summer. The Blues' new manager Todd Boehly recently met with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes.
Ronaldo wants out of Manchester United.
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo requested permission to leave Manchester United.
The 37-year-old, who scored 24 goals for United after a miraculous return to the team from Juventus last summer, is reportedly lobbying for a transfer, according to a story in The Times.
Ronaldo has reportedly asked Manchester United to let him leave if they receive a good offer this summer because he wants to play Champions League football.
Ronaldo, who has competed in Europe's premier competition for 19 straight years, will begin his career in the Europa League after United's disappointing sixth-place finish.
According to the article, Ronaldo believes he still has three to four years to play at the highest level and wants to play for a squad that can win championships.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner earlier expressed his "happiness and excitement" at Old Trafford as the team prepared to usher in a new era under Erik ten Hag, but it now appears he doesn't want to be a part of the Dutchman's rebuild, which may take years.
He only recently stated, "I know he [Ten Hag] performed a wonderful job for Ajax and that he's an experienced coach. "But we must give him time, and circumstances must change the way he desires.
"Of course, I hope we succeed. Because if you succeed, Manchester as a whole will succeed as well.
So I send him my best wishes. Not only the players, but also the fans, are joyful and enthusiastic.
"I wish him the best, and let's hope that we'll win trophies next year."

The Athletic reports that Paris Saint-Germain is not currently among the clubs interested in pursuing Cristiano Ronaldo in this transfer window. Bayern Munich is reportedly believed to have been informed of Ronaldo's predicament, and Napoli is also reportedly intrigued.
