SAVANNAH REGIONAL MINISTER ENSURES STUDENTS, GATEKEEPERS OF STABLE ACADEMIC TIMETABLE

The Savannah Regional Minister, Saeed Muhazu Jibril, says plans are being made to ensure that the constant strike by instructor affiliations don't unfavorably influence the academic timetable. Talking during a visit to the Damongo and Ndewura Jakpa Senior High schools, he said the Regional Coordinating Council will continue to liaise with immeasurably significant bodies to propel students' administration help and smooth educational work. Mr Jibril similarly charged the students to use their time by molding audit social events and arriving at the load up for needed support where significant. "We have come here to implore you to comport yourselves as in the possible destiny of this country lies in your grip. "Do whatever it takes not to include this concise period wherein you are not having teachers to do horrendous things. Use it to encourage yourselves," he told the students. Four teacher affiliations have declared an unending crosscountry strike - effective Monday, July 4 - over demands for the portion of the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA). The affiliations, containing the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT), are mentioning that the 20% of their fundamental pay be paid to them. They have placed their cutting edge movement on government's powerlessness to pay the COLA, which they battle could have helped with mitigating the impact of the rising expense for most regular things. In a response to a protest by the headmistress of Damongo SHS over moves with kitchen staff due to the strike, Mr Jibril was sure the concerns raised by striking social events would be watched out for sooner. He further praised organization of the schools for their undertakings in staying aware of mental adequacy and holding the student in line. On her part, the Savannah Regional Director of Ghana Education Service (GES), Hajia Katumi Natogmah Attah, moved toward students to stay silent and take their examinations genuinely. She zeroed in on that there wouldn't be any interference to the academic timetable.
