Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane believes Liverpool nearly prohibited him from playing for Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
Mane alleges he was asked to sign a contract to bear responsibility for his death after suffering a concussion against Cape Verde during the tournament.
"Liverpool pushed the federation and issued a letter to Fifa saying I required at least five days off, which meant I had to miss the quarter-finals," he remarked at Pro Direct Soccer France.
He added: "I contacted the president of the federation and informed him that we had to have a meeting because I had to play." I could die there. "
I replied, 'I know I shouldn't play, but let's do a deal. It will be my duty. I will sign."
