As Jurgen Klopp shapes his squad, Liverpool could sign two more contracts similar to Joe Gomez's.

Naby Keita and Diogo Jota are set to sign new contracts at Anfield as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to ensure the squad is settled beyond the short term ahead of the new season.

Liverpool might also agree contract extensions with midfielder Naby Keita and forward Diogo Jota in the upcoming days as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure his squad's long-term future ahead of a renewed Premier League title challenge.

Five days after Mohamed Salah ended speculation about his future by announcing his commitment to the Anfield club until the summer of 2025, defender Joe Gomez has signed a new five-year contract with improved wages.
Next, Liverpool want to extend Keita's contract as the Guinea midfielder enters the final year of his current deal. The 27-year-old has had a mixed career since joining Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £54 million four years ago, but Klopp is keen to increase his depth across the board after last season's quadruple attempt highlighted the need for new faces.

Meanwhile, Jota is set to receive a significant pay increase after outperforming expectations since joining from Wolves in 2020.

After falling down the pecking order in Klopp's defense following the arrival of Ibrahima Konate last season, speculation was rife that Gomez would ask to leave Anfield this summer. Klopp, on the other hand, wants Gomez to stay and believes he will have plenty of chances in a Liverpool defense that saw action on all fronts last season as they chased a quadruple.

Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Roma have all been linked with the 25-year-old, and Villa manager Steven Gerrard is a big fan.

However, with the defender's contract expiring at the end of 2024, new Anfield Sporting Director Julian Ward wanted to avoid a situation in which his contract would have been terminated. Gomez is now under contract with the club until the summer of 2027.

"I believe that as a group, the sky is the limit." "Gomez stated after signing his contract. "We want to go one, if not two, steps ahead of last season and win it all. We have the ability and the belief to do so; it's just a matter of taking it one game at a time, as we did last season, and being true to ourselves, playing the way we do under the gaffer's guidance. Who's to say we can't go further than we did last season?

"Really, the opportunity to extend my stay here was a no-brainer. Obviously, I've been here a long time, but in the grand scheme of things, I still feel young, and, as you say, my best years are still ahead of me.

"I have more to learn and plenty of time to do so." I believe I have the platform here, with the manager and coaching staff surrounding me and my teammates, to ensure that the best years are ahead."
