Chelsea are attempting to derail Frenkie de Jong's move to Manchester United.

According to Gerard Romero, a Spanish transfer expert, Chelsea has made an irresistible bid to Barcelona for Manchester United transfer target De Jong.

Manchester United and Barcelona have agreed on the value of De Jong's transfer, but neither club has agreed on the structure of the transfer.

Manchester United's latest offer for De Jong is €65 million guaranteed plus €22 million in add-ons, according to transfer expert Gerard Romero.

Barcelona, on the other hand, wants a €75 million guarantee from Manchester United, plus an additional €12 million in add-ons.

Barcelona wants the majority of the transfer fee paid now so that they can reinvest the funds in their squad this summer, and Chelsea is willing to do so.

With Manchester United delaying the signing of De Jong, Chelsea has moved to seize control of the situation.

Chelsea is also interested in signing Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, two players wanted by Barcelona this summer.

Todd Boehly, the new Chelsea co-owner, is ready to back Thomas Tuchel in the transfer market, and the Chelsea manager is now ready to hijack Manchester United's deal for De Jong.

Chelsea appear to be confident in signing De Jong because they will provide the midfielder with the opportunity to play in the Champions League, which Manchester United cannot currently provide.

Manchester United are now hoping that the positive relationship between De Jong and Erik ten Hag keeps the Red Devils ahead of Chelsea.

Manchester United's lack of decisiveness in finalizing deals this summer may cost the Red Devils a deal for a player who is highly desired by Ten Hag.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta insists that Manchester United are wasting their time in attempting to sign Frenkie de Jong.

However, speaking at the unveiling of new signing Franck Kessie on Wednesday, Laporta insisted that Barcelona had no desire to part ways with De Jong, who is said to be undecided about a move to Old Trafford.

Frenkie de Jong is not for sale, Barcelona president said. "We're not looking to sell him.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was asked whether there was an agreement with the Catalans after leaving the restaurant where he met the Barca bosses. His response was succinct: Yes.

Boehly, on the other hand, did not name anyone. According to Gerard Romero, the parties may have talked about Frenkie de Jong, Sergino Dest, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Marcos Alonso.

At the moment, it is unclear who broke the agreement.
