None of Premier League top 6 would sign Lionel Messi now: Ex-Man City defender
Danny Mills, a former defender for Manchester City, has boldly asserted that none of the Premier League's top 6 teams would sign Lionel Messi right now. Some are considering a potential approach from Manchester United for the Argentine as Cristiano Ronaldo gets closer to leaving the club.
Last season, Lionel Messi scored just 11 goals for PSG in all competitions. HIGHLIGHTS
Last summer, Lionel Messi left Barcelona and transferred for free to PSG.
Some supporters question if Manchester United can sign Lionel Messi now that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave the team.
However, the former Man City defender believes none of the top 6 Premier League teams would now sign Messi.
Many have imagined Lionel Messi playing in the Premier League as a result of Cristiano Ronaldo's projected departure from Manchester United. Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills disagrees with the idea that Manchester United should make a realistic bid for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, despite the fact that many fans have been talking about it.
At this point in his career, none of the Premier League's top 6 clubs, including Manchester United, would want to sign Messi, according to Mills, a former player who is now a football pundit.
Despite calling Messi the best player he has ever seen, Mills doesn't believe the top English clubs would welcome the Argentine right now.
Following a training absence, Ronaldo will not accompany Manchester United on their preseason tour due to family obligations.
Three players who Manchester United can sign in the summer of 2022 to replace Cristiano Ronaldo
Lionel Messi is available for purchase. I didn't watch [Johan] Cruyff or [Diego] Maradona live; he's the best footballer I've ever seen,"
Messi is the best footballer I've ever seen, in my opinion. I am aware that Ronaldo has somewhat higher statistics and is a bigger game player.
Messi is the best football player ever, but would you want him on your squad right now? Most likely not.
"I don't believe they [the top six in the Premier League]
"They [the top six teams in the Premier League] probably wouldn't take him. Liverpool? No. Man United? Tottenham? No, No. They won't, in my opinion."
For PSG last season, Messi only managed 11 goals throughout all competitions. For Manchester United, Ronaldo scored 24 goals, in contrast. However, because the Portuguese player is eager to leave Old Trafford, the search for his replacement at United has already started.
After Barcelona declined to renew his contract due to a severe financial issue, Messi joined PSG last summer. The 35-year-old himself wanted to stay with the Catalan powerhouses, but due to La Liga rules, the team was no longer able to list him as a player.
Messi hasn't seemed at his best since joining PSG. Even though there are rumors that Messi will have one of his best seasons in 2022–203, we still have to wait for that to happen.
