The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has excused claims that administration is the reason for the nation's decrease in the 2022 Press Freedom Index.
Talking in Parliament, the Minister noticed that after complete examinations, the rut can be credited to unfortunate compensation of writers.
In May, it became exposed that Reporters Without Borders (RSF) in its Press Freedom Index had positioned Ghana in the 60th position.
The most recent report implied the nation had dropped 30 spots from the past position.

Following the disclosure, extensive discussion unfolded with some accusing state specialists' assaults on columnists as the reason for the downturn.
Yet, tending to the House on Thursday, Mr Oppong Nkrumah said the powerlessness of media houses to satisfactorily pay their writers is a significant reason for the decay.
He made sense of that with the exception of the monetary setting, the press in Ghana performed very well under the other four boundaries of the new procedure.

Lawful system - 81.42%
Social setting - 79.64%
Political setting - 66.61%
Security of columnists - 62.25%
Monetary setting - 47.22%
On the rear of this, the Information Minister noticed that monetary setting "hauled us intensely on the composite score."
Furthermore, here, [Economic] RFS alludes to the destitution of individual columnists and media houses. What's more, the realities are clear in this country that since we have opened up the media scene broadly which is something excellent, various media houses have jumped up and a piece of them battle to earn enough to pay the bills.
"Indeed, even this week, you will find various reports about certain media houses battling to pay rates and the RFS fights that when columnists are not paid, the capacity to do a hallowed free occupation is problematic," he made sense of.
As of now, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denounced bits of the 2022 World Press Freedom Index which labeled the Akufo-Addo organization as "narrow minded of analysis from residents and the media."

That's what the Party contended, interestingly, the media under the NPP is the freest ever.
The NPP's Director of Communications, Yaw Boaben Asamoa noticed that the party's commitment to the development of the media under the Fourth Republic is somewhat remarkable.
"The NPP accepts Ghana's media is the freest ever and that its commitment to media development are unmatched in the Fourth Republic.
"In total, NPP decriminalized discourse, upheld foundation and preparing with the International Press Center and backing reserves and further developed range portions and administrative oversight," he said.
