WHAT A WONDER!

I wonder why almost all our Islamic public speakers (starting with my weak self) are silent on some of these evils. You can see a lady seductively taking a snap and posting on social media for likes, comments, fun, name them and almost all of us are silent, Nay we sometimes hail them.

What breaks my heart is our marriage women and brides on their wedding day doing same. Have we forgotten or oblivious of the fact that marriage is ‘ibaadah (an act or worship) just like Salaah, fasting and the likes and must be done in accordance to the teachings of Master Muhammad.

Imagine incurring the wrath of Allaah on a day you are supposedly completing half of your deen.

And as usual, when you sleep over the bed of heedlessness in your youth, then be sure to tread on the path of regret during old age. Let me hasten to reiterate that seeking knowledge frees you from the captivity and prison of ignorance and darkness. So my good friends, brothers and sisters in Islam, seek beneficial knowledge and wisdom with the correct ethics, aiming to benefit society with the knowledge and hoping for reward from the Almighty Allah. Laziness is very attractive to ignorance, so wherever there is laziness in the quest for knowledge, be certain to find ignorance married happily to Mr. laziness, making a perfect couple with darkness as their residence. Corrections, criticisms and the like are welcome as usual. They keep me on my toes and on the look out for much information. Since information is key in this day and age.Obviously, the devil has lost hope in his ability to mislead us to carve idols and icons, but he remains a step ahead in the area of social media. Once you see social media on your search for Shaytan, look no further. This is obvious to all of us.

I think there are few steps we could take to fight off the devil:

1). Educative lectures like the one above undoubtedly is a leading tool. No matter what, at least, someone from the audience will give it a thought. We must also speak on the topic in our physical presentations to complement the virtual.

2) We have a zillion number of Muslimah’s activist groups in this era. Should they channel a portion of their zeal to breeding well-educated and morally sound Muslimahs, our work will be easier and we would have the real empowered Muslimahs. Let it be known that the pictorial empowered Muslimah is vividly printed in the stories of Khadijah, Aisha, Hafsah, Zainab, Maiminah, Ramlah, etc (wives of the Prophet pbuh).

3). Our common goal should be to establish the correct Islam and not to strengthen our various activist groups. This will craft a standard ideal Muslim and Muslimah for us. If we all rise to protect that ideal in us, none of us will deviate from the core. I am more focused on our sisters because they are the strong wave that can redirect the sinking ship.

4) Some of the sisters do argue and say: “I only post my pictures to quench my intention but not to attract men, and if any man is tempted, I am not responsible for his weak feelings.”

My sister, you are responsible. Allah created this Shahwah (desire) in men as a test, do not in the least bit help them fail the test. You are responsible: until a lead of a bowl is lifted for the hungry man to spot the food, his starvation will remain manageable.

5) Men should take the first step also to end this canker by desisting from posting our pictures on social media. We have all learned today that it is unnecessary. There poison in our world today is gender parity hence what men do, women wants to do.

6) A last resort will be ethical hacking. I think if we can adopt this tool too, not to harm those who share their pictures, but to protect the innocent minds from being corrupt. This point maybe well digest by our I.T students.
