IMF Bailout: MDA monetary anomalies have expanded from GH¢12b to GH¢17b - Ablakwa affirms
The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has asserted that monetary infractions by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have expanded from the GH¢ 12.8 billion kept in 2020 to over GH¢ 17 billion out of 2021.
As per the MP, the expansion in monetary infractions, which he declares is expressed in the 2021 Auditor General's report, shows that the public authority going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout won't determine the primary test of the nation - debasement.
"Indeed, even as the Akufo-Addo government initiates IMF bailout talks, the terrible incongruity is that debasement is currently absolutely crazy.
"The most recent 2021 Auditor General's report makes for horrid perusing. It shows that monetary inconsistencies have deteriorated from the GH¢12.8billion kept in 2020 to a terrible GH¢17.4billion," he expressed.
"Rather than halting the monstrous discharge so we can work on our financial circumstances in this time of horrendous cost for many everyday items emergency, authorities have deceitfully figured out how to make more provisos by some extra GH¢5billion in a wide open ravaging," parts of a tweet shared by the MP on July 8, 2022, read.
He said that the 2021 review report found infractions worth over GH¢ 221 million in the funds of the Electricity Company of Ghana alone.
