Conflict between Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi as a private deal to get rid of Neymar unfolds

Paris Saint-Germain won Ligue 1 last season, but things did not go exactly as planned. It is rumored that the star-studded attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar are at odds with one another over Neymar's future.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman of PSG, has questioned the Brazilian's future at the organization by saying that they are "no longer betting" on him. In response to Messi's high-profile summer transfer from Barcelona last summer, Neymar's longtime PSG attacking partner Mbappe decided to sign a three-year contract extension with the Ligue 1 champions last month, keeping him in the French capital until 2025.

PSG won the Ligue 1 championship in April, but the team's supporters did not want to rejoice with the players because they are currently so disappointed with the team. In March, PSG supporters jeered Messi and Neymar at the team's opening Ligue 1 game after Real Madrid eliminated PSG from the Champions League in the last-16.

Every time the two South American football stars touched the ball against Bordeaux, there were boos. Those jeers were directed at PSG president Al-Khelaifi only a day earlier after their team's latest humiliation in Europe, which was followed by visible public unhappiness within the club.

The extreme expectations surrounding the front may be one of the factors contributing to the lack of harmony around the front three of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar.

Despite making so many promises, they failed to live up to expectations during their first season of team play at Parc des Princes. A recent article in Mundo Deportivo underlines the trio's unhappiness.

The rumors that Mbappe would have significant influence over the club's sporting decisions as part of his new deal were one of the most notable features surrounding his new contracts. This would entail giving the striker a say in decisions on managers and sporting directors as well as players who should be signed and kept.
