David Moyes has upheld new signing Flynn Downes to continue in the strides of Jarrod Bowen in taking his Championship structure into the Premier League with West Ham.
Midfielder Downes turned into Moyes' third significant signing of the summer on Thursday, joining Swansea in an agreement worth an underlying £ 9 million.
Moyes has made a propensity for enlisting from the lower associations all through his vocation and marked Bowen from Hull just a month into his subsequent spell as Hammers manager, in January 2020.
The winger partook in a fabulous season last term, procuring a designation for the Premier League player of the Year grant, as well as his most memorable England call-up toward the finish of the mission.
"We think [Downes] has got great energy," Moyes said, making sense of the marking. "We believe he has a lot of things which we have about our group, which we would need to keep and need to add to. I'm anticipating it.
"We brought Jarrod Bowen from a comparable circumstance at Hull, so we're continuously attempting to find young men from the Championship who we believe will move forward to become Premier League players. I'm trusting that Flynn does. I believe there's a decent opportunity as he has a truckload of good credits."
West Ham is this midday set to start off their preseason with a cordial against Swiss side Servette in Geneva. Downes, who is a childhood West Ham fan, won't be involved, rather connecting up with his new partners when they return to Rush Green after the match.
The 23-year-old will be joined by any semblance of Declan Rice and Bowen, alongside the other club's internationals, who were given additional downtime after their late completion of the season.
"It's been my fantasy since I was a young man to join this club - it's an outright honor," he told the club site. "This is my club, so I was unable to be more glad. I'm delighted to be here and I can hardly hold back to get everything rolling.
"Players have come to West Ham from the Championship and advanced to global distinctions. That is something you can't overlook. The chief's history of bringing players through was a major inspiration in my joining the club.
"I'm so thankful for the chance to be a West Ham player."
