Stunning footage of Liverpool Anfield Road expansion emerges as Luis Suarez rejects transfer offer
Your Saturday morning Liverpool headlines include former Reds star Luis Suarez's transfer reversal and drone footage of the most recent Anfield Road expansion developments.
Here are the news stories you should know about for July 9.
Taking shape is expansion
Following the release of fresh video, the Anfield Road extension is progressing smoothly.
An update on the work being done to boost Anfield's capacity to 61,000 was captured in drone footage taken on Wednesday. After the £110 million Main Stand addition in 2016 and the debut of the £50 million AXA Training Center two years ago, it is the third expansion project under FSG.
The project's initial estimated cost was £60 million, but because of the Covid-19 epidemic, that amount has now increased by a third to £ 80 million.
Staying in Europe is Suarez
Luis Suarez, a former striker for Liverpool, provided a significant update on his plans for the upcoming football season.
When Atletico Madrid released the Uruguyan at the end of the previous campaign, there were rumors that the 35-year-old would leave Spain and pursue a career with River Plate in Argentina. Suarez, however, has stated that he will no longer be joining River Plate and may now be remaining in Europe as a result of River Plate's elimination from the Copa Libertadores.
Suarez told the Uruguayan news site El Pais, "I proclaimed a month and a half ago that I was not going to leave Europe, but River urged and insisted so much that I came to consider that idea." "No matter what someone says, you'll take it into consideration when the time comes. The fact that they adore you so much makes you happy. A player needs to witness love.
