According to information provided by Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, Manchester United has made a fresh offer to buy Lisandro Martinez, an Ajax defender who is a target for Arsenal. According to reports, the Red Devils increased their initial bid for the Ajax defender by £50 million.

Martinez could have to decide between the two Premier League opponents, and there might be a bidding battle. The Ajax defender was a fixture in Amsterdam under the previous boss Erik ten Hag, who is now in charge at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag assumed leadership of the Theater of Dreams this summer, and he plans to complete all of his transfer goals before the start of the regular season. The defender might be reunited with the Dutch manager in Manchester if the £50 million offer is in line with what Ajax has asked for.

Since Mikel Arteta is also undergoing an intriguing rebuild, Arsenal will try to wrest the star away from their Premier League opponents. One of the last components that helps the Gunners advance might be Lisandro Martinez.

Both teams will be hoping to complete their moves for their target quickly.

For Lisandro Martinez, Gabby Agbonlahor chooses between Manchester United and Arsenal.

The summer transfer window has been fantastic for the Gunners so far, but the Red Devils have only added one significant first-team player. Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax may be on their way, but both transactions are still pending and open to being scooped up.

It's understandable why players have been hesitant to sign up with Old Trafford, especially given the team's dismal performance the previous year. They ultimately placed sixth, 35 points behind eventual Premier League champion Manchester City. Gabby Agbonlahor is adamant that other top-tier English football clubs would have a better chance of attracting players. The former Aston Villa star told talkSPORT that Chelsea or Tottenham would be preferable to Manchester United as destinations for a move.

He made the statement, "I'd even go to Arsenal before Manchester United, they're a wreck," as if he were Lisandro Martinez.
