Memphis Depay appears to have been offered to Chelsea in recent weeks, just weeks after Tottenham reportedly indicated an interest in the Dutchman.

Tottenham was reportedly one of the teams hoping to recruit Depay as a potential attack option in June. Naturally, nothing has changed in that sense since then; instead, Spurs signed Clement Lenglet and are working to finalize a contract for Djed Spence.

And there has now revealed that Depay has definitely been offered to Chelsea, continuing what appears to be a trend this summer when it comes to certain English clubs. Due to Chelsea's loss of Andreas Christensen to Camp Nou and Barca's ongoing pursuit of Cesar Azpilicueta, the two teams have already met this summer. Additionally, both clubs have been competing for Raphinha, a star player for Leeds.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea accepts the offer to sign Depay. The former Manchester United and Lyon star, described as a "world class" operator, is rumored to be available for roughly £20 million.
Opinion: Most Premier League Teams Should Be Interested in Depay
Depay has had a fantastic career at the club and international levels despite his early setback at Manchester United. Given these facts and Barca's willingness to negotiate a sale, the Dutchman would be a wise signing for Premier League clubs.
He might be useful for Chelsea and Tottenham, though he could have to deal with being more of a squad player than a regular in the starting lineup.
In today's Premier League, £20 million is chump cash, so if Depay were to leave Spain, he might just fancy proving everyone in England wrong. Without a doubt, Tottenham and Chelsea could seek many worse players than him.
