Domelevo delegated to Audit Committee of Global Fund

Previous Auditor-General, Daniel Yao Domelevo, has been delegated as a board individual from the Global Fund addressing West and Central Africa.
He will serve on the Audit and Finance Committee of the Global Fund and will join 11 others to decide on issues brought before the board.
The board endorsed his arrangement, along with the 11 others on the panel, on fourth May 2022.
The Global Fund is a supporting establishment which gives US$4 billion yearly in help to nations including Ghana to battle AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
President Akufo-Addo in March last year asked the then Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo to continue on retirement after he had quite recently gotten back from a 167-day constrained leave.
In a letter endorsed by Nana Asante Bediatuo, the Secretary to the President said "The consideration of the President of the Republic has been attracted to records and reports made accessible to this Office by the Audit Service, that show that your date of birth is June 1, 1960, and that as per article 199 (1) of the Constitution, your date of retirement as Auditor-General was June 1, 2020," the letter said.
Likewise, subsequently, "the President is of the view that you have officially left office."
It added that Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu will keep on going about as Auditor-General until the President names a considerable head.
In any case, President Akufo-Addo later in May last year repeated that the previous Auditor-General, Daniel Yao Domelevo was not harassed out of office.
As per him, Mr Domelevo's expulsion was because of his achievement of the public retirement age of 60.
"There's a period for resigning which is endorsed by rule, not my making. Assuming you are 60 years of age you're guessed no longer to have the option to work in the public assistance," he said.
