Ghana won’t need IMF if gov’t was serious about recovering lost, stolen monies;

Social and non-hardliner strain bunch, OccupyGhana has approached the Auditor-General to pursue people and establishments in government who have lost or taken public assets.

In a public statement from the Civil Society Organizations (CSO), it focuses on that assuming that the public authority doesn't joke around about recuperating lost monies revealed in the Auditor-General's report from 2016 to 2020, it would have no need to rush to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for help.

We have noted from the assertion of the Information Minister that Ghana would look for about $2B from the IMF. $2B is generally ?16B. Is that ALL we want to hold us over the wreck that we think of ourselves as ready? What's more, do we need to go running to the IMF to give that, when from the Auditor-General's Reports, determined from 2016 to 2020, how much monies lost or taken is ?47,945,579,875? In dollar terms, that is very nearly multiple times the $2B we are going for.

"Obviously, we wouldn't require the IMF on the off chance that the public authority doesn't mess around with recuperating these lost and taken monies, and afterward stopping the openings that permitted them to be lost or taken in any case," portions of a delivery from OccupyGhana has said.

The backing bunch in its delivery, firmly requests that the Auditor-General promptly continues preclusions and overcharges.

"We emphatically request that the Attorney-General authorizes the denials and overcharges, including making a lawbreaker move, as likewise requested by the Supreme Court.

"A country that won't forestall or recuperate its lost and taken monies, will continue to make return outings to the IMF," the delivery from OccupyGhana finishes up.

To be continued..

Don't go away
