Champions League Group C prediction, free tip & team-by-team analysis

Porto Strongest team (4-3-3): Diogo Costa; Wilson Manafa, Mbemba, Pepe, Sanusi; Otavio, Grujic, Sergio Oliveira; Corona, Marega, Anderson. Manager - Sergio Conceicao After winning two league titles in three seasons, Conceicao is firmly established in the Porto hotseat. Last season the 45-year-old led the Dragons to a league and cup double. Transfer dealings Porto steered clear of big-money deals but brought in three loans – West Ham winger Felipe Anderson, Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic and Chelsea defender Malang Sarr – to add competition. They were weakened during the final week of the window with left-back Alex Telles joining Manchester United and midfielder Danilo sealing a loan switch to Paris St-Germain. Key man Malian attacker Moussa Marega has reached double-figure goal tallies in each of his three seasons with the club. He is off to a strong start this term, bagging a brace in a 5-0 success away to Boavista. Prospects Porto return to the group stage after a one-year absence but they are likely to find it a lot tougher than in 2018-19 when they collected 16 points from 18. Two years ago the Dragons were the top dogs in a weak section featuring Schalke, Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow. This time they have got it tougher and are far from certain to reach the round of 16. Every year Porto seem to be fending off interest in key players and they were dealt big blows towards the end of the transfer window when Manchester United snapped up Alex Telles and PSG swooped for Danilo. Rating 3/5 Manchester City Strongest team (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, Foden; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling. Manager - Pep Guardiola Last season was a disappointment for Guardiola but he has a fabulous track record and will be hungry to deliver Manchester City's first Champions League trophy. Transfer dealings There has been no let-up in the club's pursuit of excellence. Ruben Dias's arrival should bolster them at the back and winger Ferran Torres comes in for Leroy Sane, who has moved to Bayern Munich. Key man It is hard to find a more reliable assist machine than Kevin De Bruyne, who set up 20 Premier League goals last term, seven more than his closest challenger Trent Alexander-Arnold. Prospects Manchester City still haven't progressed beyond the Champions League quarter-finals in four attempts under Pep Guardiola but they are rightly ranked among the leading contenders. Everything seemed to be going according to plan last season with the Citizens dominating their group and passing a stiff test with flying colours in the round of 16 by defeating Real Madrid 4-2 on aggregate. But the change in the format seemed to work against them as they lost 3-1 to Lyon in Lisbon. City have had a habit of throwing in a poor performance when least expected but they look strong in all departments and should be far superior to their Group C rivals. Rating 5/5 Olympiakos Strongest team (4-3-3): Jose Sa; Rafinha, Ruben Semedo, Ba, Holebas; Camara, M'Vila, Bouchalakis; Randelovic, El-Arabi, Valbuena. Manager - Pedro Martins After spending the first 12 years of his managerial career in his native Portugal, Martins joined Olympiakos in May 2018.
