Daniel Wambua from Nairobi happily narrates how he has been married for thirty-six years to his wife. He claimed that she is respectful and very humble regardless of how much money she makes monthly. He said that for the longest time she had a better salary compared to his and he has never felt less manly or intimidated by her.
According to Daniel who is a father of three young men, he met his wife while they were both working in Nairobi. During that period he didn't know how much she made in her employment. After they got married he was surprised to realize that she had better pay compared to him.
He claimed that he was worried at first because he didn't know how she would react to his income, however, he was surprised because she was okay with it. They were blessed with three children and his wife paid the majority of the bills.
According to him, his wife stood by him when he lost his job. He stayed for partially two years without employment and many times she gave him money meant for his expenses. She could hand him money while visiting the in-laws so that he can do the shopping and also give them a token of appreciation.
According to him, they do not have a joint account but they still plan and implement their projects together. Daniel said that when he first joined the ministry his wife supported him both in prayers na emotionally and he is proud of her.
Daniel also said that he has never laid a hand on his wife whenever they had arguments. He believes that people can solve their issues without having fights or insulting one another. The marriage of thirty years has had its challenges but he is glad that they are still together. He believes that it is only death that can separate them.
" If you have a blessed marriage, make it work and always pray for its success," Daniel stated.
His advice to women who have a better salary than their spouses is to respect them and make them feel important. He believes that money, status, and social class should never define a person.
