Callum Hudson-Odoi, a winger for Chelsea, has been open about where he will play during the forthcoming season.

Under Thomas Tuchel, the 21-year-old has filled a variety of roles, including his natural left flank position, at either side as a wing-back, and also as a number 10.

Due to many injuries, Hudson-Odoi missed a large portion of the previous season and only made 15 Premier League matches, which had an effect on his development.

His strongest stretch of the season came during Tuchel's 10-start, 11-game span when Chelsea was leading the Premier League heading into November before the squad's performance was hindered by injury.

Before the new year, the Blues' title defense was delayed by injuries, and Hudson-Odoi joined Ben Chilwell and Reece James in suffering from them.

The 21-year-old, who is eager to reclaim his spot in Tuchel's starting lineup before the upcoming season, is unfazed by this, though.

Regarding his wounds, he said: "It's challenging. We were playing games every week at the time of my initial Achilles injury, and I was having fun playing in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

"There was a lot of excitement thinking I would play in the semifinals and final, so to subsequently have an injury like that was incredibly disheartening.

"With this one, it's just one of those things, and injuries do happen, but my major goal for the remainder of my career, for as long as it lasts, is to stay as injury-free as possible.

"I'm trying to act properly to ensure that I'm fully prepared and able to give it my all in every game," the player said.

Hudson-declaration Odoi's about his intentions to avoid getting hurt was more than simply that.

The winger went on to talk about his position in Tuchel's team, saying that he wants to play as frequently as possible while also taking on his favoured left-wing position.

"I want to play as frequently as I can. I want to just keep playing and playing as much as I can because regular football brings out the consistency, he told the Chelsea website.

"It was important for me to play those 10 out of 11 games at my favored position on the left side because that's where I know I can perform at my highest level.

"We were winning games, leading the league, and everything was going well. Having an injury like that strikes you hard, but at the same time, it inspires you to recover and get back to where you were before."

Raheem Sterling, who is likely to join the team and contend for a left flank position under Tuchel, will put a lot of pressure on Hudson-Odoi to earn a spot in the Chelsea lineup.

In addition, despite rumors of transfers abroad, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech are still members of the team.
