Chelsea and Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Raheem Sterling in a £47.5 million deal after weeks of negotiations.

Raheem Sterling had already agreed personal terms with Chelsea on a five-year contract with a 12-month extension option.

The 27-year-old is set to become Chelsea's highest-paid player after agreeing to a deal worth £300,000 per week.

Plans for a medical examination in London are now in full swing. Sterling will join his new teammates on their pre-season tour to the United States once this is completed, as the team has already jetted to the United States.

Sterling, according to The Athletic, has spoken with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about life at the club and his alleged role in the team.

The German coach's vision for the club impressed the England international, according to The Athletic.

Sterling, who left Liverpool for Manchester City in a £44 million deal, has spent seven years with the club, scoring 131 goals in 339 appearances.

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist, has also confirmed the agreement.

"Raheem Sterling to Chelsea, here we go!" wrote the transfer expert on Twitter. Man City gave their final approval. Fee of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons Personal terms were agreed upon days ago, and it was never an issue. It's done #CFC "Contract until 2027 with an option for an additional year." Tuchel had already spoken with him directly.

Sterling brings a wealth of experience to Chelsea, having won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and three League Cups.

Chelsea is a team to watch in the upcoming football season, even with a very uninteresting transfer market. Despite the fact that no new roster members have been announced, it is expected that they will be announced very soon.

Chelsea led the Premier League rankings for the majority of the first half of last season before faltering in the first week of December. Chelsea's lack of consistency allowed Liverpool and Manchester City to leapfrog them in the standings and open up a sizable lead.

Injuries to key players, concerns about COVID-19, fixture congestion, and a ban imposed by the UK government all played a role in the Blues' inability to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool last season.

Chelsea should be considered a very dangerous team to play against in the upcoming Premier League season, which begins in four weeks, due to the numerous factors we will discuss below.

Chelsea's head coach, Thomas Tuchel, ensures that they will always be a formidable opponent. Chelsea hired the German strategist in January 2021, when the club was in disrepair and in desperate need of assistance.

There's no denying Thomas Tuchel is gifted, and after a year of studying the club, he'd be far more effective as a coach. During the summer transfer window, he will almost certainly bring in some new players who share his perspective on the game.
