According to Man Utd sponsors, Cristiano Ronaldo transfer story is about to take a new turn

In the most recent development in the summer's transfer controversy, Cristiano Ronaldo's main sponsors at Manchester United are putting pressure on the team to keep him.

Given that certain sponsors are alleged to have helped finance Ronaldo's £500,000-per-week pay for a return to Old Trafford, it is understood that United are unwilling to give in to his demands to depart in order to play Champions League games.

Ronaldo, 37, is eager to end his contract with United, which will play in the Europa League next year, and they want more than just a season to be able to take use of his enormous commercial reach.

Ronaldo leads Lionel Messi in goals scored in the Champions League after 19 years in a row, with the Argentinean scoring 125 as opposed to the United star's 140. Ronaldo, who has more than 460 million Instagram followers, values his Champions League legacy and aspires to leave the league as its all-time leading scorer. If he stays at United, that is unlikely to happen, which is why he has urged the team to let him go if a Champions League club makes an acceptable offer.

The Portuguese star's agent, Jorges Mendes, is now searching for a suitable team throughout Europe, with Chelsea reportedly still showing interest. After signing Kylian Mbappe to a contract, Paris Saint-Germain is not regarded to be in the running elsewhere as £100million signing-on fee over the course of the France youngster's three-year contract.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Manchester United, has been linked to moves to Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich among other teams.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, would have to alter their entire transfer plan in order to sign Ronaldo, and club executives assert that they lack the funds for such a brief agreement. Napoli is rumored to be considering a transfer, but given how badly the coronavirus outbreak has affected Italian sport, it's unlikely they could match all of Ronaldo's demands. Returning to his old team Sporting Lisbon may be an option, but only if Ronaldo decided to play there rather than for money.
