Player might "give up" on his desire of playing for Barcelona and start talking to Chelsea again in next few hours
Goal reports that Leeds United winger Raphinha, who is unclear of his future, may abandon his desire to go for Barcelona and reopen talks with Chelsea.
The signing of Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord by Leeds as his successor has left the 25-year-old with no choice but to go for another club this summer.
According to Goal, Leeds have made it clear that they can't wait any longer and want to wrap up the transfer mystery surrounding Raphinha as soon as possible.
Raphinha's preferred summer destination is still Barcelona, although no contract has been reached between the clubs as of yet. In the next hours, the player might "give up" on his desire to play for Barcelona and begin speaking with Chelsea once more.
According to the source, Barcelona has already matched the £60 million Chelsea had offered, but Leeds finds Chelsea's offering more appealing because of the two offers' dissimilar payment plans.
First off, Barcelona's proposal includes more attainable add-ons compared to Chelsea's higher base price. Like Chelsea, the Catalan club intends to pay the payments over a longer period of time.
Leeds and Barcelona are still negotiating the specifics, although the Spanish club is pressed for time to close the transaction.
Goal adds that if Barcelona and Leeds are unable to come to an agreement by the beginning of next week, Raphinha himself and his advisors may be willing to give up on his desire to play for Camp Nou and resume negotiations with Chelsea.
The Brazilian international scored 13 goals and contributed three assists in the Premier League last year while still under Elland Road's two-year deal.
But Raheem isn't the only winger connected with a transfer to Chelsea; the London club is apparently close to agreeing to a deal with Manchester City.
