West Ham United have finished the tornado marking of Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes.
The 23-year-old has written a five-year contract at London Stadium, with the choice of an extra year, and moves forward to Premier League level for an undisclosed expense accepted to be in the district of £9m in addition to additional items.
"It's a dreamlike inclination to have joined my childhood Club," Downes said. "I feel like I'm dreaming.
"It's been my fantasy since I was a young man to join this Club - it's an outright honor. This is my Club, so I was unable to be more happy. I'm happy to be here and I can hardly hold on to get everything rolling.
"I need to be all that I can be and this feels like the ideal chance to test myself against the absolute best players in the Premier League.
"Players have come to West Ham from the Championship and advanced to worldwide distinctions. That is something you can't overlook. The chief's history of bringing players through was a major inspiration in me joining the Club."I'm so thankful for the potential chance to be a West Ham player."
Downes is West Ham's fourth summer marking, following the appearances of Nayef Aguerd, Alphonse Areola and Patrick Kelly - albeit the last option is supposed to get together with West Ham's institute side.
A deep rooted Hammers fan, Downes spent only one season at Swansea subsequent to joining the club from Ipswich for £1.5m and immediately secured himself as a first group standard. He showed up during 2021/22, enlisting a passing exactness of 93%, and has recently been covered at England Under-19 and England Under-20 level.
He had been important to Crystal Palace, with Patrick Vieira quick to fortify his midfield choices following the finish of Conor Gallagher's fruitful advance spell.
Yet, regardless of serious interest from the Eagles, Downes has picked to proceed with his profession at West Ham - and will currently reinforce David Moyes' choices in midfield in front of an occupied 2022/23 mission that will contain Europa Conference League football.
