Mahama, John - Wayoosi "Is a kind man; he wanted to fly me to Europe for a kidney transplant"

Wayoosi said that Mahama is a decent man and wanted to fly me to Europe for a kidney transplant.

The former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has received praise from Kumawood star Joseph Osei, better known by his stage name Wayoosi, for saving his life.

Wayoosi revealed the kind deed Mahama did for him while he was bedridden by talking about it in a recent interview.

The NDC flagbearer reportedly gave him a donation while he was a patient at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital via Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, who was Ghana's Minister of Creative Arts and Tourism at the time.

Wayoosi claims that he was about to die when the previous President gave him the presents that finally saved his life. In addition, John Mahama pledged to transport him to Europe for a kidney transplant if Ghanaian medical professionals were unable to cure him.

Wayoosi is confident that because he used this specific approach, John Mahama would understand what he was trying to say.

After being gravely ill with kidney disease four years ago, Joseph Nana Osei Kofi, also known as Wayoosi in Kumawood circles, has recovered. Ghanacelebrities.com and Adomonline.com both said that the adored actor has now totally recovered from the renal condition that almost cost him his life. When recounting how he survived, the actor said one of his miracles was when he emerged from a hospital "coma" to find Lord Kenya, a former hip-hop singer who is now a preacher, praying for him.

In 2018, Wayoosi was diagnosed with kidney illness as a result of his admissions that he once consumed eight bottles of alcohol each day on average. The movie actor, who was diagnosed with the illness, issued a stern warning to the public after learning that excessive use of alcoholic beverages, particularly 'apio' (a locally manufactured gin), could have a negative impact on one's health.
