THE AGENT FOR KALIDOU KOULIBALY INFORMS CHELSEA OF THE DEFENDER'S COST

According to rumors, Chelsea has been advised of the cost they would have to pay for Kalidou Koulibaly by his agent Fali Ramadani.

The rebuilding of Chelsea's defense is one of their top goals in the current summer transfer window.

Chelsea urgently needs to improve their defense after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid on a free transfer, discovering Andreas Christensen as a Barcelona player, and the possibility that Cesar Azpilicueta would join his old Danish comrade at the Catalan club.

In preparation for the upcoming Premier League season, which begins in less than a month, Chelsea took off for their preseason tour of America on Saturday without having made a single signing.

Blues supporters have up to now had to be patient, but it appears that certain agreements may be nearing conclusion.

Raheem Sterling has signed a five-year contract with Chelsea, and Manchester City and Chelsea have come to an agreement on a transfer fee of £47.5 million.

The drama surrounding Brazilian star Raphinha is still unfolding, but the most recent rumors indicate that Leeds United is becoming increasingly unhappy with Barcelona, which might open the door for Chelsea, the only team that has had a proposal accepted.

Raphinha and Sterling would both be eye-catching additions for the Blues this summer, but it is still unclear who they will sign to improve the defense.

Given that head coach Thomas Tuchel earlier referred to Nathan Ake as a "important figure" in the renovation, it appears that he has taken the top role.

The Blues have also been connected with Matthijs de Ligt during the summer, although Bayern Munich will be tough competition for the player.

Although neither party has made a formal offer, it is understood that De Ligt would be interested in moving to the Bundesliga despite admiring the way Tuchel motivates his defenders.

However, there are still other choices, such as Koulibaly of Napoli.

The 31-year-old Senegalese defender's contract expires in just one year.

Ramadani's agency reportedly told the Blues that they would need to spend €40 million to sign him this summer, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Additionally, it has been stated that Koulibaly will meet with Napoli this week to talk about a potential departure after declining an offer from Aurelio de Laurentiis since he is aware that he is 'in demand' on the transfer market.

In a move, he might partner up with Edouard Mendy, a teammate on the national team, as the west London club looks to revamp their defense.

Chelsea, Barcelona, and Juventus are all interested in a deal, but Napoli does not want to sell to a rival, and the player has no plans to move to Turin.

Should someone make the appropriate offer, it might be worthwhile for Napoli to let him go rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
