Lionel Messi has expressed his concern about Cristiano Ronaldo joining him at PSG clear.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, prompting some to speculate that he could join Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain.
Lionel Messi has earlier noted that he would like to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, whose future in Portugal is still up in the air.

Ronaldo did not travel to Bangkok with the rest of Manchester United's squad for their pre-season friendly against Liverpool. While his absence is due to family obligations, the 37-year-old has been linked with a summer exit after being dissatisfied with United's form and transfer activity since returning to the club from Juventus last year.

Only a few clubs are expected to be in the running for Ronaldo, with Chelsea among them. However, the possibility of joining Paris Saint-Germain and playing alongside Messi has been raised.

Messi was asked about playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2015. At the time, the pair were rivals with Barcelona and Real Madrid, and had been battling for a number of consecutive Ballons d'Or, but the Argentine took a never-say-die attitude.

"Of furthermore, yes." "When pressed on the subject, he stated "I enjoy playing with the best, and he is one of them.

"I believe it will be difficult for us to play together, but obviously I would like to." I've had the good fortune to play and participate with a lot of great players, and I'd love to do it again with him."

Ronaldo would not be willing to move anywhere, but PSG is one of the clubs he is willing to consider. It appears that Champions League football is a must for the veteran, who is running out of time to add to his trophy cabinet after winning the European title for the last time in 2018.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi claimed his club had not even considered signing Ronaldo when he left Juventus for Manchester United in 2021. However, with the French champions, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich also on the list of possible destinations for the former Real Madrid star, the future remains uncertain.

Much may depend on PSG's own transfer business under new manager Christophe Galtier, who took over after Mauricio Pochettino was fired. While Kylian Mbappe will stay at Parc des Princes after signing a lucrative contract extension, and Messi has a year left on his contract, Neymar's future is less certain.

Chelsea is among the possible buyers for the Brazil international, who has been linked with a summer exit five years after his world-record move to Paris. With Angel Di Maria already leaving PSG this summer, his departure could open up space for a new attacking recruit.
