Free water, power, others added to ebb and flow financial burdens - Assibey-Yeboah
Previous Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Mark Assibey-Yeboah, has said the episode of the worldwide pandemic - Covid and the Russia-Ukraine war are not the principal factors that prompted the country's ongoing financial burdens.
As per him, government's use during the pinnacle of the COVID-19 pandemic including the gifts given out to Ghanaians added up to the obligation and financial emergency the nation currently thinks of itself as in.
In a meeting on Citi TV, Mark Assibey-Yeboah said, "with every one of the free things that we appreciated, government spending went into the rooftop, the free water, power, the prepared dinners, the COVID-19 help and everything that was given out...If you take a gander at how we had the option to deal with the pandemic, and afterward the results thereof, I don't think about it is owing to the pandemic and afterward the conflict.
"At the time Ghana was being downsized in January there was no conflict, so we ought to leave the conflict bit out. The beneficial thing about having an asset program is that we would need to open our books. So when the asset comes in, we would know the unpaid debts circumstance for example," he added.
