The French forward and the Norwegian striker who recently joined Manchester City are the world's two most valuable players. Both players have dominated their respective teams over the last three seasons. Let's look at their stats since the 2019/20 season. Kylian Mbappe was the main player for Paris Saint-Germain in the 2019/20 season, scoring 30 goals in 37 games. However, Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund scored 13 goals more than Mbappe during the same season. Despite playing two fewer games than the Norwegian striker, Mbappe had 9 more assists than Haaland.
The 2020/21 season, on the other hand, saw intense competition between Haaland and Mbappe. Both players scored the same number of goals, but Kylian Mbappe played six more games than Haaland. Mbappe led Paris Saint-Germain with 42 goals and 11 assists in the 2020/21 season, while Haaland led Borussia Dortmund with 41 goals and 12 assists. This demonstrates why the two players have been named the best Youngsters in the last three years.
Due to injuries, Erling Haaland missed the majority of the 2021/22 season. Despite this, the Norwegian striker managed to score 27 goals in 29 games. However, in the 2021/22 season, Kylian Mbappe played the majority of Paris Saint-games, Germain's scoring 39 goals and providing 21 assists more than Haaland. Mbappe, on the other hand, was among the top three players in Europe's top five leagues in terms of goal contributions in the 2021/22 season. He contributed 65 goals, while Haaland contributed 32 goals.
However, it is clear that Kylian Mbappe has played in a far superior team than Haaland's, demonstrating why the Norwegian striker deserves a lot of praise. However, he has joined Manchester City and now has the opportunity to show the world why he is the best young player.
