A deal has been concluded between FC Barcelona and Leeds United for the transfer of Raphinha.
Despite interest from rival teams like Chelsea and Arsenal, the Brazil international has been the Blaugrana's main target for the right wing position this summer.
SPORT reported on Friday that Raphinha, 25, had received a final offer from the Catalans, which might be accepted over the weekend. Raphinha may then fly to Barcelona on Monday to sign his deal.
Ben Jacobs of Sports Illustrated, who was one of the top reporters on the recent acquisition of Chelsea by Todd Boehly's group, claims that Barca and Leeds have reached a deal for Raphinha's transfer.
SPORT had reported that Barcelona's last bid was €55 million ($55.6 million), which was considerably less than Chelsea's £55 million ($66 million) counteroffer.
However, other reports claimed that Barca's offer with add-ons was closer to what Chelsea put up. According to Jacobs, the La Liga giants and the Yorkshiremen agreed to a deal that is closer to €75 million ($76.4 million).
"Raphinha was always a player Barcelona was certain they would sign, but it's not true that the deal has been finalized for weeks. today only, "Raphinha and his agency Deco are said to have been waiting for Barca, the player's ideal team, to make a serious offer, according to Jacobs.
Raphinha's anticipated arrival was long predicted to make things more difficult for Ousmane Dembele, who became a free agent on June 30.
However, if the numbers work out, it is rumored that both players would like to be a part of Xavi Hernandez's first team squad. As a result, the Frenchman now appears to be staying at the Camp Nou after all.
"In the last 48 hours, Xavi has worked hard to have the Dembele contract approved. If nothing unexpected happens, he'll sign a two-year contract with a 40% cut "Jacobs confirms this by saying, ay cut.
Dembele is expected to earn around €6-7 million ($6.1-7.1 million) per season in Catalonia, which is roughly the same amount as teenage wonderkids Ansu Fati and Pedri presently earn.
