A COCKROACH NEVER WINS A CASE IN A COURT OF FOWLS

In a nation where the ruling party's tentacles stretch far and wide, infiltrating every institution, the judiciary is sadly no exception. The government's iron grip on the courts ensures that justice is only served to those who toe the line, while the vulnerable, marginalized, and opposition are left to fend for themselves, much like a cockroach in a court of fowls.

This is the tale of John the Cockroach, a young activist who dared to challenge the government's draconian policies. Despite being a diligent and patriotic citizen, John's commitment to transparency and good governance led to him being targeted by the government. The charges against him were fabricated, and the outcome of the trial was a foregone conclusion.

As John stood before the judge, he knew he was fighting a losing battle. The prosecutor, a staunch loyalist of the ruling party, presented a case riddled with inconsistencies and falsehoods.

The judge, beholden to the government for his appointment, turned a blind eye to the flaws. The verdict was predictable: guilty as charged. John's fate was sealed, and he was sentenced to a lengthy prison term.

This is a stark reminder of the ruling party's manipulation of the judiciary, which has far-reaching consequences. It stifles dissent, silences critics, and perpetuates a culture of impunity. The people are left with no recourse, forced to live in a state of constant fear.

But there are those who refuse to give up. They continue to fight for justice, for equality, and for the rights enshrined in the constitution. Their struggle is uphill, but they draw strength from the knowledge that they are not alone.

As the Rwandan proverb goes, "In a court of fowls, the cockroach never wins his case". But this doesn't mean the cockroach will stop fighting. The people will continue to resist, to organize, and to demand justice. For in the end, it is not the government that holds the power, but the people themselves.
