According to a Daily Star story, English Premier League team Arsenal is plotting a shocking bid to recruit Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante before the new season.
The international player from France has been a member of the Blues since 2016 and is important to Thomas Tuchel's ambitions. His current contract expires in the coming year, but Chelsea has yet to extend it. Arsenal is getting ready to make a move to sign Kante after sensing an opening.
Before the start of the new season, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, acquired Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. If and when N'Golo Kante decides to, the Spanish manager feels he will play a significant part in bolstering the midfield.
In the 259 games he played for the English club in various competitions, Kante has a total of 13 goals and 15 assists. With Chelsea in 2017 and Leicester City in 2016, he captured two Premier League championships. Chelsea's Champions League victory in the 2020–21 season was greatly aided by Kante.
Manchester United had previously expressed interest in signing Kante as well. They believed he could be the one to fix their midfield problems and get them back on track. After Erik ten Hag, Frankie de Jong's previous coach at Ajax, was chosen as the new full-time manager at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have since turned their attention to acquiring him from Barcelona. N'Golo Kante won't be playing for Chelsea in the preseason friendlies against American teams because he hasn't received his full dose of the coronavirus vaccine yet. According to Sky Sports, Thomas Loftus Cheek will also miss the preseason matches for the same reason.
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta plays for Lyon, although Arsenal has not yet made him an offer.
According to ESPN journalist Freddie Paxton, Arsenal have not yet made Lucas Paqueta of Lyon an official offer. The Arsenal have been in talks with the player's agent but have not yet presented him with a formal offer for his client.
Despite Lyon's willingness to permit the Brazilian international to move before the start of the upcoming Ligue 1 season, Paxton claimed that Paqueta's agent Eduardo Uram has disputed the existence of a formal offer.
Paqueta played 77 games with the French club, contributing to 21 goals and 13 assists.
