The new Gomoa Ejumako Chief is threatening to sanction parents who let their children roam at night.
Nana Akotokor Fenyi XI, the newly installed Nguabasdunhen of Gomoa Ejumako in the Central Region, has issued a warning to parents whose children are caught roaming the streets at night in the Gomoa Ejumako Community.
According to the chief, school-age children are found roaming the streets at night with their friends doing nothing.
He noted that the situation has contributed to the community's high rate of adolescent pregnancy, which is concerning.
The chief stated that chiefs and opinion leaders in Gomoa Ejumako will soon establish by-laws to ensure that schoolchildren are dealt with when they are caught in the street.
During his installation, Nana Fenyi XI advised the area's schoolchildren to take their lessons seriously in order to make their lives meaningful in the future.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the Odikro of Gomoa Ejumako Nana Kwankoma VI urged Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, Member of Parliament for Gomoa West Constituency, and District Chief Executive for Gomoa West District Bismarck Basie Nkum to complete the Apam Junction to Gomoa Dewurampong road.
He stated that the previous government began constructing the road, but due to the change of government, construction ceased and all construction materials were destroyed, and that all efforts by the Chiefs in the area to bring the contractor back to the site were futile.
Chiefs in the Gomoa West District, he claims, are tired of the government's promises to improve their deplorable roads.
"We are tired of assurances from the Member of Parliament for the area, Richard Gyan Mensah, and his District Chief Executive, Bismarck Basie Nkum, who always say that the road from Apam Junction to Gomoa Dewurampong is "in the Pipeline."
He urged the government to bring the contractor to the site as soon as possible and finish the deplorable road from Apam Junction to Gomoa Dewurampong.
