Cristiano Ronaldo, the great forward for Manchester United who has spent just one year back in England, is set to leave Old Trafford, and Bayern Munich has been mentioned in rumors.

The Portuguese star was not on the Bavarians' radar, CEO Oliver Kahn said in a swift denial of the allegations.

But according to recent Tutto Mercato rumors, the German powerhouses have just played down their interest in Ronaldo as a media strategy

The German and English teams are thought to be aware of this, and Bayern has been in touch with Ronaldo's superagent, Jorge Mendes.

According to reports, the negotiations have been under the radar as the Bavarians are not willing to make them public at this time. Apparently, the German club intends to wait for a key development to happen before they can go public with their interests.

This is about Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who has vocally advocated leaving the Allianz Arena with a desire to transfer to Camp Nou.

Bayern has received an offer from Barcelona, and the two teams are trying to reach a deal despite Bayern's desire to keep Lewandowksi.

Waiting for Barcelona and Bayern to make a decision on Lewandowksi is Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The club has to deal with the reality of the situation, and with Lewandowski's impending departure, they will need to acquire a player who can score 40+ goals per season.

The team considered Sebastien Haller and Erling Haaland as potential successors to Lewandowski. Both players, though, have moved on to other teams.

The Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has previously scored more than 40 goals every season, caught the attention of the Bavarians as a result. Bayern Munich has a chance to get Ronaldo due to his desire to play in the Champions League and his readiness to leave Old Trafford.

They will have to wait for more information regarding the Robert Lewandowski transfer saga, though. The Bavarians will make their bid for Cristiano Ronaldo if the star eventually decides to transfer to Barcelona. Bayern will halt their pursuit of the Manchester United player if the Polish attacker stays at the Allianz Arena.

Whatever transpires, the location of two of Europe's biggest talents' future professional destinations will unquestionably be decided by this summer's transfer window. It most likely won't take place at the same club.
