For Manchester United Football Club, the 2021–2022 season was truly one to forget.
Even with the addition of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo to the lineup, the Red Devils struggled for almost the whole season.
United's sixth-place performance in the Premier League means that they will compete in the Europa League in 2022–2023.
However, there is cautious optimism among fans heading into the new campaign, and a large part of that is down to the hiring of manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman had great success at Ajax, but after Ralf Rangnick's dismal tenure as interim manager, he will have his job cut out for him at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag will be particularly motivated to restart the team's youthful guns, mainly Marcus Rashford and Sancho.
For a large portion of last season, both forwards—Rashford in particular—flattered to deceive.

But after viewing a footage from the team's training session prior to Tuesday's friendly against Liverpool, fans are enthusiastic about the possibility of the two collaborating under Ten Hag's direction.
In the video from Bangkok, Sancho is seen gathering the ball on the right side of the box and whipping in a pinpoint cross for Rashford, who firmly finished the opportunity with his head.

Although the goal itself is not very noteworthy, it is encouraging for United supporters to see the two Englishmen working well together, since they did so infrequently during the previous campaign.

The World Cup later in the year will undoubtedly be a motivating factor for both Rashford and Sancho next season.
The United duo are in risk of missing out on a spot in the competition since they weren't included in Gareth Southgate's most recent England squad.
However, if they regain their form in the first half of 2022–2023, they may very likely reclaim a berth in the team.
United's Premier League campaign gets underway on August 7 when they travel to face Brighton & Hove Albion, who destroyed them 4-0 in the beginning of May.
After that game, Ten Hag's team will travel to Brentford before facing off against their fiercest rivals, Liverpool, on August 22.
